Mass & Confessions
We offer two weekday Masses at 8: 00 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with confessions heard Monday through Friday, 7:30-7:50 a.m. and 11:30-11:50 a.m.
Confessions are heard on Saturdays from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Likewise, Confessions are heard each Sunday: 7:00 a.m.-7:30 a.m.; 9:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m.; 11:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Mass follows the confession times.
Sunday Masses begin on Saturday evening at 4 pm; On Sundays, Masses are offered at 7:30 am, 8:30 am is the Latin Low Mass in the Extraordinary Form, and 10:am Mass, the 11:30 a.m. Mass is the solemn choir Mass, the 5pm is Mass without music, and the 6 pm Mass is in Creole and French.
Liturgical Music
Saint John’s choirs provide a variety of musical settings for the weekend Masses, all of which are in English. The Adult Choir offers traditional Catholic hymns at the Saturday 4: 00 p.m. Mass. The Children’s Choir sings each Sunday at the 10: 00 a.m. Family Mass, and, at the 11:30 a.m. Mass, the Parish Choir offers Gregorian Chant, and polyphonic works from Tallis, Palestrina, Victoria, Mozart, Haydn, Faure and Vaughn Williams and other Catholic liturgical works. The Haitian choir fills the church with the spiritual music of the Caribbean at the Sunday 6:00 p.m. Haitian Mass, celebrated in Creole and French.
